Chopper Spins Uncontrollably into Palm Trees at Frequented Southern California Coast

A chopper flying near a popular coastal shoreline abruptly began spiraling uncontrollably, eventually dropping height and crashing into a row of palm groves as onlookers watched.

Footage posted on the internet show the aircraft commencing to spiral above Huntington Beach then plunging towards the border of the shore, where it gets stuck between palm trees and a staircase close to the shoreline route.

Emergency Response Details

The Huntington Beach fire department reported five individuals were rushed to the hospital comprising two who were in the chopper and were “extracted safely from the crash site” following the accident on Saturday.

Three individuals on the pavement were hurt. Specifics on their condition were not immediately available.

What led to the incident was not immediately released.
